Pay once per decision, or by the year. No subscription trap.
Your first Solo decision is free, no card required. After that, decisions are priced one at a time. A single Consumer Annual all-access plan exists for the rare household that runs many decisions in a year. Every charge is in US dollars; local taxes are added at checkout based on your billing address. Seven-day refund window from purchase.
Charged once, on the day you compose.
Use this if you have a small number of decisions to run. The full verdict (five-layer analysis plus Claude-written synthesis paragraph) is included on every paid tier. Solo Free ships with a Python-only numerical summary so the free tier is genuinely free.

Most people pay per decision. Per-decision is the right shape for this product · a decision worth running carefully is not the same as a subscription. Consumer Annual exists for the small number of households whose lives genuinely call for several decisions in a year, and it gives them a single price ceiling.
All-access for one account. Run any consumer decision · Solo, Couple, or Family · as many times as the year calls for. No per-decision charge while active.
- Unlimited Solo, Couple, and Family decisions for twelve months
- Full Claude-written verdict on every decision (including Solo)
- Pays for itself at about four Couple decisions or two Family decisions in a year
- Cancel any time; the plan covers the current term then ends
- Not for practitioners using the product with clients · see the practitioner program

Start per-decision. Most people stay there.
The per-decision prices are the product's default and they are fair on their own. A meaningful decision is not a subscription; treating it like one would push the product toward urgency it does not deserve. We never push you to upgrade and we will not bundle annual into the checkout flow as a default.
Consumer Annual pays for itself if any of these describe your year:
- Four or more Couple decisions ($25 USD each · $100 USD already exceeds the $99 USD annual)
- Two or more Family decisions ($49 USD each · $98 USD nearly covers it)
- A mixed year of Solo, Couple, and Family decisions where the total would otherwise exceed about $100 USD
If you are unsure, start per-decision. You can switch to Consumer Annual at any time; the per-decision amounts paid in the past 30 days are credited against the annual price.
The fine print, in plain English.
Currency. All prices on this page are in US dollars, charged to your card via Stripe from anywhere in the world. We use Stripe's worldwide payment surface; you'll see the conversion to your local currency on your statement.
Taxes. Stripe calculates and collects local sales tax / VAT / GST based on your billing address at checkout. The prices shown above are pre-tax; the final amount on your receipt is the price plus tax (if any) for your jurisdiction. Stripe collects in the EU, UK, NZ, AU, and several US states; elsewhere there is no consumption tax to add.
When you are charged. Upfront, on the day you compose a decision or the day you start Consumer Annual. We do not authorise-and-hold across the long duration of a decision (a Stripe authorisation can be held for at most 7 days, and our decisions can run for up to 365), so every charge is a real charge taken at composition.
Refunds. A seven-day refund window from purchase applies to every paid decision and to Consumer Annual. Cancel within seven days and we refund the full amount; after seven days the charge is final unless there is a technical defect on our part. The full policy is on refunds.
Receipts and invoices. Every charge is followed by a Stripe receipt to the email on your account. PDF invoices are available on the billing page in your account; export the full history as CSV any time.
Cancellation. Cancel Consumer Annual from your account at any time; the plan covers the current term then ends without renewing. Per the refund policy, the full annual fee is refundable within seven days of the original charge; after that, the plan runs out its term but does not renew.
The questions people actually ask.
Is the free Solo decision really free?
Yes. No card on file, no trial period that auto-upgrades. Your first lifetime Solo decision is free and ships with a Python numerical summary on the reveal day. The Claude-written synthesis paragraph is reserved for paid decisions because that's where the per-decision cost on our side lives; the rest of the product is the same on free and paid Solo.
Why is Couple more than Solo · do I pay for my partner?
Your partner does not pay separately. The Couple price ($25 USD per decision) covers both of you, plus the additional analysis cost on our side: two streams of votes, two sets of notes, the axis-of-disagreement synthesis, and the per-participant breakdown. A Couple verdict is materially more expensive for us to generate than a Solo verdict.
What is Consumer Annual, exactly?
One SKU at $99 USD per year. While active, any consumer decision you start on the account is included at no additional charge · Solo, Couple, or Family. There is no per-decision-type sub-plan; the annual covers all three. Designed for the rare household whose year genuinely calls for several decisions; not a default upsell.
What happens to a decision that is mid-run if my Consumer Annual ends?
It runs to completion on the original duration. We honour every decision that was started under an active plan; cancellation does not interrupt or close out any in-flight decision. Only newly composed decisions after the plan ends would require a per-decision charge or a fresh annual.
Are there discounts for therapists or counsellors?
Practitioners using Counsel.day with clients sit on a separate Practitioner Annual at $399 USD per year, sold only on the therapist program and counsellor program pages · unlimited client decisions for a working practice. Practitioners also receive a quarterly referral payout for client accounts they refer; see those pages for the program detail.
What if my country's currency makes this expensive?
Pricing is USD-only worldwide for two reasons. First, we are a tiny team and dynamic currency conversion is operational overhead we cannot yet sustain. Second, our model and pipeline costs are denominated in USD, and per-region pricing would mean cross-subsidy in directions we cannot model honestly. If the USD price puts the product out of reach in your local economy, write to us at hello@counsel.day; we read every message.
