How the seal-then-reveal actually works.
A two-partner Couple decision, sped up · thirty evenings on the left rail, the sealed vote slips behind them, the reveal animation at the close, the verdict that opens.
Read the transcript (for accessibility and quick-skim)
0:00 · Two partners open Counsel.day. One question · "Should we move overseas for the year?" The composer asks for a duration · they pick thirty days.
0:08 · Evening one. Each partner sees the same prompt at 19:00 local. They tap one of four options · strong yes / lean yes / lean no / strong no. They write a one-line note if a note comes. Submit. The vote seals.
0:18 · Evening seven. Both have voted six of seven nights. Neither has seen the other's vote. The strip across the top shows seven sealed envelopes per partner · no contents visible.
0:30 · Evening twenty-eight. The trajectories on each side have diverged · one partner's votes have firmed toward yes, the other's drifted toward no. Neither knows this yet.
0:42 · Final evening. The reveal. Both envelopes open simultaneously. The two trajectories show side by side. The themes underneath surface · one mentioned schools eleven times, the other mentioned the language barrier nine times. The synthesis paragraph from Claude Opus 4.7 names what the disagreement is actually about.
0:58 · One specific next conversation · written as a real question they can take to the table. The decision stays with them. The structure was Counsel.day's.

The fine print, in plain English.
Currency. All prices on this page are in US dollars, charged to your card via Stripe from anywhere in the world. We use Stripe's worldwide payment surface; you'll see the conversion to your local currency on your statement.
Taxes. Counsel.day is not GST-registered today, so no GST or sales tax is added at checkout. The price shown is the price billed. When we cross the GST registration threshold we will add tax collection and you will see it as a separate line on the receipt.
When you are charged. Upfront, on the day you compose a decision. We do not authorise-and-hold across the long duration of a decision (a Stripe authorisation can be held for at most 7 days, and our decisions can run for up to 365), so every charge is a real charge taken at composition.
Refunds. Charges are final at checkout. We refund only for a closed list of technical defects on our part (verdict pipeline failed, double-charge, decision cut short, product offline for a meaningful portion of your decision) and where local consumer-protection law mandates a refund we cannot contract out of. No change-of-mind, no partial-completion, no didn't-use-it refunds. Full policy on refunds.
Receipts and invoices. Every charge is followed by a Stripe receipt to the email on your account. PDF invoices are available on the billing page in your account; export the full history as CSV any time.
No subscription. Counsel.day sells per decision only. There is nothing to cancel and nothing recurring; each charge ends with the decision it paid for.
Counsel Journal stands alone.
The flagship Decision tool is paid per decision (above). Counsel Journal is a fully separate standalone product · the evening reflection journal that runs on its own. Type or speak for thirty to a hundred-and-eighty seconds each evening about today, the entry seals for seven days, and each Sunday a Monday-morning verdict ships on the past week.
$4.99 USD / month. One price. One subscription. Everything Counsel Journal does sits inside it: the nightly entry (text or voice), the seven-day seal, the weekly Monday verdict, the monthly themed verdict on the first Monday of every month that reads the last four weekly verdicts together, and unlimited history. Cancel any time from the billing portal; the subscription stops at the end of the current period and you keep access until then.
Note: if you're using both products, your active Counsel.day Decisions get their own daily reflection thread inside the Decision tool · that's free with any active decision and is separate from the Counsel Journal subscription.
The questions people actually ask.
Is the free Solo decision really free?
Yes. No card on file, no trial period that auto-upgrades. Your first lifetime Solo decision is free and ships with a Python numerical summary on the reveal day. The AI-written synthesis paragraph is reserved for paid decisions because that's where the per-decision cost on our side lives; the rest of the product is the same on free and paid Solo.
Why is Couple more than Solo · do I pay for my partner?
Your partner does not pay separately. The Couple price ($15.99 USD per decision) covers both of you, plus the additional analysis cost on our side: two streams of votes, two sets of notes, the axis-of-disagreement synthesis, and the per-participant breakdown. A Couple verdict is materially more expensive for us to generate than a Solo verdict.
Is there a subscription option?
No. Counsel.day is per-decision only · a meaningful decision is not a subscription, and treating it like one would push the product toward urgency it does not deserve.
Are there discounts for therapists or counsellors?
Therapists and counsellors who refer clients to Counsel.day receive a quarterly referral payout for client accounts that sign up through their referral link. See the therapist program or counsellor program page for the detail.
